What you need to know about sitting

How is WellU is helping people move more and sit less?

In a recent news story, physical activity expert and professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic James Levine cleared the air about the role of exercise in our health and well-being. Turns out, according to Levine, "Something you do at the end of the day for one hour, three evenings a week, doesn't actually offset the harm for what you do 15 hours a day, seven days a week: sit. Doing exercise is great if you do it. But that doesn't offset the harm from excess sitting."

This is what CSS Shape up and stretch break programs were designed to do: encourage new habits that combat sitting and help us thrive.
