Have you heard the news?! The Wellness Committee is in the process of developing a comprehensive strategic plan to take health and wellness at the College to the next level. This plan will be designed to maximize the overall health and well-being of the CSS community in a holistic manner. It will focus on all aspects of wellness including spiritual, mental, physical, financial, and emotional health.
This deliberate and thoughtful approach to an increased emphasis on health and wellness is a community effort. We encourage all employees, including managers and supervisors, within the College to become a partner in promoting a culture of wellness on campus.
Wellness is not a new concept at CSS. 1500 years of Benedictine tradition provides a great model for holistic wellness. The Rule of Benedict encourages us to act as stewards of ourselves, one another, and the Earth. Over the past 100 years, the Sisters of St. Scholastica have continued the tradition. If we are all stronger in terms of mind, body, and soul, we become stronger as a community.
Our value of stewardship will be the value in focus for 2013-14. The timing is right for us as a community to further reinforce the value of stewardship by focusing on health and wellness. This emphasis is an affirmation of our rich Benedictine heritage. The time to act is now! This is your opportunity to help make the value of stewardship truly come alive.
